The Lakeside School PTA ( Parent Teacher Association) is a very active charitable body organising a range of fund raising and social events each year to help raise money for Lakeside school.
Regular events include discos for pupils, a Summer and Christmas fair, quiz nights, social events, shopping/pamper evenings, a duck race, calendars, cake and uniform sales and many more.
The group meet monthly either in the morning or evening on the Monday of the first full week every month in the school staffroom. All parents of pupils at the school and members of staff are welcome to attend these informal meetings. If you are new to the school, the meetings are a great way of meeting other parents and members of staff.
If you require further information about the PTA, please contact any of the above named members, the office staff, or ask friends you know to be members!
The next one is Monday 15 January 2018 at 9am in the Staff room. All parents, carers and grandparents of current pupils are welcome.
These are once a month in general, and we ask 2 year groups at a time to provide the cakes. Please could parents of those children make/donate cakes and bring them to school on the Friday morning and your child can leave them in Mrs Mitchell's office and the DH office.
Your PTA have raised funds to buy items for classrooms, buy a mini bus to transport teams and hire out to help others, bought a shop to sell from and store stock. We have also paid for laptops for the whole school through a lease agreement. We recently purchased a defibrillator.
Thanks to all who helped and/or took part in all our past events. Well done Lakeside!

We are changing the way parent volunteers record their time.
From January 2018 you will need to record your time on a Volunteer Card and present this card to the school office to exchange your time for a Spice Credit Voucher.
The new cards will be available from Mrs Rundle in the school office from Tuesday 8th January 2018.
Vouchers are earned in exchange for volunteering in classrooms, attending school trips or assisting the PTA at events. The vouchers can be used in various places across South Wales, including Boulders, Ice Arena Wales, Jump and the Royal Mint Experience to name a few. The full list is available from justaddspice.org.
If you are interested in becoming a parent volunteer and earning Spice Credit Vouchers please email the school.
