Netball

Club meets Fridays 3.30-4.30pm at school.

Lakeside has had a fine reputation in the past for excellent netball - many of our current parents recall Mrs Penny Doyle (now retired) training them when they were Lakeside pupils.  Two years ago, a group of these parents got together to re-ignite netball at Lakeside, training pupils from Years 5 and 6 after school on Fridays, and playing local teams in matches and tournaments.  This culminated in the first Lakeside Netball Tournament, which took place in June 2025.  We were delighted to welcome several primary schools from the Cardiff area to take part, and even more so when Mrs Penny Doyle returned to enjoy the tournament and award prizes.  The plan is to make this an annual event.

On the 14th July, 2025, Netballerz - an organisation set up and run by a group of Lakeside parents to teach and promote netball in the community - hosted an adult tournament.  Lakeside Primary was proud to provide the facilities for this event, which was a huge success.  Check out the video of the event, below.
