Dear Parent/Carer,

Thank you to parents and carers for attending our Curriculum information meetings.  Please remember that if you have any questions, please see the teachers at the end of the day or contact the school email.  We have had some great offers from parents to come into school and be our ‘Curriculum Experts’, although we are still waiting for an astronaut to come forward for Year 1!  We will shortly be sharing our Spring term topics with you and look forward to hearing about your skills and talents that could help our learning journey.

Children in Need

Thanks to everyone for engaging with this fun fundraiser.  We were so impressed – as usual! – with the excellence and variety of the costumes.  Such a wonderful splash of bright, vibrant colours on a dull November morning!  We’ll confirm the amount raised by your generous donations as soon as we’ve counted it.

Anti-bullying week

Children have been taking part in lots of Anti-bullying activities this week, particularly on the theme of Reaching Out – this year’s Anti-bullying Week focus.  Children had an assembly and talked about being Anti-bullying Superheroes and shared an anti-bullying poster which is on display around the school.  The poster is attached.  If you would like more information on this year’s theme, here’s a link https://anti-bullyingalliance.org.uk/anti-bullying-week/anti-bullying-week-2022-reach-out

Safe parking

As the weather is getting colder and wetter and more parents/carers are using their cars to drop-off and pick-up, a gentle reminder to park safely and considerately when doing so.  Please be aware of residents’ driveways and of making sure that you leave plenty of room for pushchairs and prams on pavements.  Thank you.

Last Friday’s Cake Sale raised a phenomenal £341 – thank you to Years 1 and 5 for all the cakes and to all of you who bought.  Great result!

Upcoming PTA events

Autumn Nature competitions

The Digital Leaders have judged the competition and the results will be announced in next week’s assembly.  All of us were amazed and impressed by the quality of all the entries – thank you to all who took part for engaging with this lovely competition.  A showcase video of all the entries will be available after the results have been shared.

Poetry Competition

Our next competition was officially launched by the School Council today and they informed pupils about the Greenpeace Poems for the Planet Poetry Competition.  Children aged between 7 and 11 are invited to write a poem of up to 400 words long about anything to do with nature.  The deadline for entering is 23^rd November, to give School Council time to collate the entries for sending on to the national competition.
