Parentmail 3.12.21
Dear Parents/Carers,
Children (and staff) have had a fabulous week filming our Lakeside Christmas Concert. I would like to thank parents / carers / grandparents and everyone involved in putting together the superb costumes that you have provided. The hall has been transformed into a studio with lights, cameras and a lot of Christmas action! Years five and six will be filming their parts on Monday 6th December.
Advent Calendar
Thank you for joining in with our ‘12 Makaton Days of Christmas’. Children are enjoying learning the Christmas Makaton words. Each day, the calendar door will be available on the school website:

Christmas Jumper Day – Friday 10th December
Please dress in your best festive jumper to help raise money for Save the Children! Office staff will be on the gate with festive buckets on Friday morning to greet you. The choir will also be performing some Christmas songs for us from 8-30 that morning so please come along early and join in with some festive singing.
PTA Virtual Pantomime
In place of the usual school Christmas Pantomime, the PTA have organised a Virtual Christmas Pantomime for the children this year, so they can watch it in classes – thank you PTA!
Covid Update
We have had a higher then usual number of positive cases this week in Lakeside. Please remember to be vigilant when looking out for symptoms. We are advised that if your child is symptomatic, they will need a PCR test, not a lateral flow test.
There are classes across the school where staffing ratios are reduced due to Covid and supply cover across the city is very limited and often unavailable. With thanks to part time staff and cover staff stepping in, we are still able to open all year groups fully. We wish our staff who are isolating or unwell a speedy recovery.
****Road Safety outside school****
We urge families to use the pavements outside school during drop-off and collection and not to walk in the road. Although the road is closed to general traffic at certain times, local residents are exempt and may use the road during these times. It is essential for your safety, therefore, that you do not walk on the road, even when there is no traffic. It is also vital that children learn that the only safe place to walk is on the pavement, as most roads are busy and dangerous. Thank you.
