Dear Parents/Carers

Red Nose Day: Friday 18th March 2022

This year’s Comic Relief theme is Superheroes and I’m sure that we all have our favourites. Pupils and staff are invited to dress up as a superhero or a local hero, wear a superhero T-shirt or tell a story about a hero. We will be collecting money as usual on the gate to some superhero tunes.

British Science Week

As you know, we are very lucky to have on our staff our very own Science presenter – Mrs Gamble. Next week, to mark British Science Week, she will be demonstrating experiments to all year groups. Please also see the following links to some experiments and a story that we created for our Working Together Wednesdays last year, and for Halloween 2021.

Sports Days

Following Wales moving to Level Zero for Covid, we are delighted to be able to reinstate our Sports Days for Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2 and to invite parents/carers to attend. They will take place at the National Indoor Athletics Centre at Cardiff Metropolitan University on the following dates:

Foundation Phase: Thursday 7th July

Key Stage 2: Friday 8th July

Ukraine

We have received some information from Cardiff Council about talking to children about war and conflict. Talking to children about what’s happening in Ukraine can be really hard. The Cardiff Schools of Sanctuary has put together a resource to help your children navigate the news they may have seen or heard. You can access the resource via this link:

Speaking with Children about the War in Ukraine (cityofsanctuary.org)

Here are links for donations - we’ve added the newly launched Disasters Emergency Committee Appeal to the list.

Best wishes,
