Dear Parents/Carers,

Following on the last week’s fundraiser for Comic Relief I am delighted and proud to say that the families of Lakeside Primary School have so far raised over £700 for the Ukraine DEC… and we are still awaiting the contribution from the PTA Uniform Sale this afternoon. Thank you all for your continued generosity.

Covid guidance

You will be aware that the First Minister has spoken today about Covid restrictions. He confirmed that the advice to schools remains the same until after the Easter break. I will be in touch with any further updates from the local authority. Thank you everybody for your continued vigilance with testing and isolating.

Year 5 Swimming

Year 5 children will take part in their swimming lessons over the next two weeks. Please make sure you have signed up on Parentpay. Thank you.

Parents’ Consultations Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 28th-30th March

Parents’ Consultations continue next week. Please be mindful that your 10-minute time slot will end automatically and teachers have no control over this. If there is anything in particular you would like to discuss with the class teacher please raise this at the start of your consultation to ensure that there is sufficient time to discuss it.

Please have your phone nearby so that in the unlikely event of any technical issues, the teacher can phone you within your allocated time slot.

Children’s school work will be available to view online via SeeSaw or Google Classroom for you to look at before the consultation. Please reserve any comments or questions on this work for your consultation as teachers won’t have had time to look at online comments or questions during the consultation period.

Earth Hour: Saturday 26th March 2022

Every year millions of people across the world show they care about the future of the planet by taking part in Earth Hour. Getting involved really is as simple as flicking a switch and turning off a light. Earth Hour takes place from 8.30pm to 9.30pm on Saturday 26th March and Cardiff Council will be supporting it by turning out the lights at Cardiff Castle, City Hall and the New Theatre. Check out the link below for more information about Earth Hour here: https://www.wwf.org.uk/wales/earthhour

Wishing a Happy Mothering Sunday to all our families.

Best wishes,
